Marble has been used for the construction of statues and buildings from the ancient time. The marble floor cleaning used at home enhances the beauty and appearance apart from boosting the value. However, it is quite important to maintain the marble floors in order to extend their life and make it look stunning appearance.



Best Method for Marble Cleaning 

The best method to clean the marble floors is to wipe them down with the help of soft cloth dipped into a specific cleaning solution. This solution can be prepared by mixing three tablespoons of baking soda into one quart of warm water. This process can be continued by submerging the cloth in the warm water and then using it to wipe the floor. Special care is needed to be taken care of while making sure to avoid abrasive cleaners with difficult stains. This would harm the surface of the marble badly which may even lead to erosion. Once the marble floor cleaning has been completed, it must be left to dry for a couple of hours and then rinsed with clean water.

Tips to clean old and dirty marble floors 

Marble tiles are very shiny and durable nature. They are majorly used as an alternative to linoleum, ceramic, wood and carpeted floor. Deep cleaning and polishing are the best ways to bring back the lost shine by removing the tough stains by the method of poultice. Easy process for marble floor cleaning is mentioned below: 

Sweep or mop the floor making it dry to remove the surface from dust and dirt.

Mix three tablespoons of baking soda with a generous amount of dishwashing liquid to a quart of warm water. This can be used as an alternative to the commercial stone cleaner.

Fill up a bucket of plain tap water.

Dip a soft cloth which is non-abrasive natured into the soapy water and then scrub the floor. It is recommended to repeat the process of cleaning until the water gets dirty.

Measure one cup of earth, plaster, powdered white chalk and talc and make a paste by adding the powder.

Wet the stained area along with the distilled water and then spread it thoroughly over the stains.

Cover each of the stains with the plastic wrap and tape all the way around the edge with the masking tape.

Leave the poultice approximately for twenty-four hours to forty-eight hours till it is dried.

Remove the plastic wrap to wipe away the poultice with the help of a wet cloth or poultice.

Apply the commercial stone sealant as per the package directions to get the desired result.
